About Me
As an assistant professor and researcher with the molecular pharmacology and physiology department at the University of South Florida, Dr. Dominic D’Agostino has focused his work on the advancement and testing of treatments to help patients with cancer and degenerative muscle disorders. In one such research study, he received a grant from the Office of Naval Research to analyze the seizures that typically occur in cases of CNS oxygen toxicity and develop viable treatments for this condition. Dr. Dominic D’Agostino has also played a key role in research studies that evaluate the effect of calorie-restrictive ketogenic diets on the progression of conditions such as cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

In his concurrent role as assistant professor, Dr. Dominic D’Agostino has taught a number of university courses, including Membrane Physiology and Basic Medical Biochemistry. He has also traveled across the globe to lecture on his research findings and published numerous medical abstracts in scientific journals.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. D’Agostino enjoys a number of hobbies such as traveling, kayaking, and scuba diving. An avid power lifter, he maintains an interest in sports nutrition to promote overall fitness and muscle health. Dr. D’Agostino also remains dedicated to charitable work, supporting such nonprofits as the Tampa Humane Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay.
