David Greenwald

A graduate of Occidental College and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, Dr. David Greenwald completed a general surgery internship and neurosurgeon residency at the University of Florida Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Since 1998, David Greenwald MD has practiced as a neurosurgeon in southern California and Florida, including more than nine years with the Neuro Spine Florida in St. Augustine. He joined Comprehensive MD in 2020.

In his current position, Dr. Greenwald performs procedures including brain tumor surgeries, skull base surgeries, and spine surgeries. He has earned numerous Patients' Choice Awards in local publications, including Jacksonville Magazine’s Most Compassionate Doctor Award. Widely published in peer-reviewed medical journals and textbooks, he has presented posters to organizations including the American Neurological Association and Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He is a Diplomate with the American Board of Neurosurgical Surgeons.

Outside of work, Dr. Greenwald enjoys many outdoor activities, including scuba diving, fishing, and golfing. A martial arts practitioner, he has earned a first-degree black belt.
