About Me
After studying speech at Dale Carnegie where he earned the Master Speaker's Award, Darren Downen was elected to serve as alderman for the City of Hernando, Mississippi, where he also served as the vice mayor. At the same time, Darren Downen continued serving as president of Road Runner/Downen Management Company, which he founded in 1984. As head of the firm, he earned Mississippi's Economic Development Award.
Following the completion of his service as Alderman/Vice Mayor, Mr. Downen became a managing partner with Riverside Auto Auction. Throughout the following years, he owned and operated an Avis Car Rental location and two Smooth Moves Juice Bars franchises. He also served as an independent consultant for Your Travel Biz, where he achieved executive status, became the lead developer for VitaMist, and founded the private label mattress firm Swank Mattress Company.
Darren Downen belongs to the Hernando Baptist Church and the Hot Wings Society. In his leisure time he enjoys traveling, especially for mission trips, and spending time with his grandchildren.
