About Me
Dr. Daniel "Danny" Ashley is an internal medicine resident physician at Yale New Haven Hospital / Yale University School of Medicine, having completed a preliminary year in internal medicine at the University of Louisville (UofL Health) and earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Queensland – Ochsner Clinical School in 2024. He maintains a clinical and academic interest in dermatology, and he holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology and a Master of Public Administration (MPA), both with distinction, from California State University, Fresno (Fresno State). While at Fresno State, he was inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, served as vice president of the American Medical Student Association, and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

Danny's research interests span dermatology — including melanoma, pediatric dermatology, and epidermolysis bullosa — along with public health and health policy, and he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, and presentations. He serves as a Continuing Medical Education (CME) Research Fellow with the AIM at Melanoma Foundation, founded the Dermatology Student Interest Group during medical school at the University of Queensland – Ochsner Clinical School, and holds leadership roles at Yale and within the American Physician Scientists Association (APSA) and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS).

His healthcare experience includes working as a Certified Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS) at Fresno Community Regional Medical Center, where he gained expertise in medical terminology and procedures. Dedicated to improving healthcare access in underserved areas, he participated in medical mission trips to Peru and Costa Rica. In Peru, Danny assisted healthcare personnel in providing dental and medical services to remote farming villages in the Andes with Christian Emergency Relief Team (CERT) International. He also worked with the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children in Costa Rica to create a diabetes prevention program and assist in a local clinic.
