About Me
A magna cum laude graduate of Amherst College, Dana Bazelon subsequently earned her juris doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center. Afterward, she worked for a year as a clerk for the Honorable Michael Baylson in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Dana Bazelon then spent three years as a staff attorney with the Defender Association of Philadelphia before she joined Kairys, Rudovsky, Messing & Feinberg.

In a little over a year at Kairys Rudovsky, Dana Bazelon garnered experience in federal civil rights law and worked on several federal criminal cases. She launched her own law practice in 2013 and served five years as the principal, focused on civil rights cases involving the mistreatment of inmates in prison and criminal defense. Since 2018, she has worked as a Senior Policy Advisor to Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner.

To reform Philadelphia's criminal justice system, Dana Bazelon has worked on projects to lessen the number of people on parole, decrease the number of children in juvenile detention centers, and reform the bail system. More specifically, she helps draft policies and represents the office in dealings with criminal justice stakeholders.
