About Me
A graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Curtis Schondelmeyer is an accomplished veterinarian who draws on over a decade of experience. Currently, Dr. Curtis Schondelmeyer is the director of animal care services at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, which he joined in 2018.

Within the university, Dr. Schondelmeyer also serves as an attending veterinarian and assists investigators with bio-safety, regulatory, and compliance matters, among other responsibilities.

Prior to these endeavors, he worked with Biogen, where he served as a senior scientist and veterinarian for three years. In this capacity, Dr. Curtis Schondelmeyer oversaw two vivariums and the In-Vivo Resource Center Training Program. He also provided veterinary consultation services to investigators, including the use and development of animal models and species selection.

Dr. Schondelmeyer began his career as a clinical veterinarian at Harvard Medical School, where he was also an instructor for classes such as the Organismic and Evolutionary Biology 251, “Introduction to Vertebrate Surgery.” During this time, he received a Certificate of Distinction in Teaching Award.

He holds membership in the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science and the Academy of Surgical Research.
