About Me
Curt Cashour has worked as a communication and public affairs specialist for nearly two decades. A former press secretary at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Cashour spent two years in the role, serving as the agency’s chief spokesperson. Cashour then worked as VA’s deputy assistant secretary for public affairs, leading all of the department’s major communication efforts and overseeing a staff of nearly 350 people. During this time, he managed the agency’s COVID-19 communication efforts, overseeing responses to more than 2,000 COVID-related media inquiries. Before joining VA, Cashour worked for the U.S. House of Representatives House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. Serving as the committee’s communications director for more than three-and-a-half years, he helped garner support for dozens of veterans bills that became law and managed relationships with hundreds of reporters. Cashour has a bachelor of science in interpersonal communication from Ohio University and an associate of arts in communication arts from Sinclair Community College.
