Christopher “Chris” Bonavico is a founding partner and portfolio manager at Jackson Square Partners in San Francisco, California, an institutional asset management firm with $22 billion in assets under management. Prior to establishing the company in 2014, he spent more than 9 years as a portfolio manager with Delaware Investments, also in San Francisco, and 12 years as a research analyst and portfolio manager at Transamerica Investment Management. He developed his passion for bottom-up fundamental investment practices during this time, gaining experience in areas of institutional client relations, strategic investing, risk management, and more. During his time with Transamerica, Christopher “Chris” Bonavico was instrumental in the company launching its expansion to managing the assets of outside institutional clients.
An economics graduate of the University of Delaware, Mr. Bonavico maintains his designation as a chartered financial analyst. He spends time engaging with a number of professional organizations, such as the San Francisco Society of Securities Analysts. In his free time, he stays active by playing tennis, skiing, and spending time with his children, including as a youth soccer coach.
