Pennsylvania resident Brian Derrick graduated as valedictorian from Thiel College, earning a bachelor of arts in accounting. Brian Derrick later served as director of financial planning and analysis for the Allegheny Health Education & Research Foundation (AHERF) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Derrick joined the Jefferson Health System in Philadelphia, the city's largest system for healthcare delivery, in 2002 as interim chief financial officer. This position saw him activate an offshore captive insurance company in partnership with the organization’s vice president of Insurance.
From there, Mr. Derrick moved to Einstein Healthcare Network, where he worked for eight years as senior vice president and chief financial officer. He helped achieve a $50 million turnaround with the CEO's partnership.
At Summa Health System, he worked for seven years as chief financial officer and senior vice president. In that role, he earned a nomination as non-profit healthcare CFO of the year.
Mr. Derrick has served on the Thiel College board. When he is not busy at work, he enjoys pastimes such as gardening and snow skiing.
