About Me
Based in Washington DC, Otis Benjamin Young has co-launched the successful fitness technology company Nexercise Inc., which produces the Sworkit fitness app. To prepare for his career as a technology entrepreneur, Benjamin Young earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Virginia, where he was an Echols Scholar and graduated with honors. He also received a master's degree in business administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and, for his academic performance, he graduated in the top 5 percent of his class.
Ben Young cofounded Nexercise in 2010 with Gregory Coleman. Together, they launched NexTrack, a fitness tracker, in 2011, and, after participating in the 2013 Techstars business accelerator, they acquired and developed the Sworkit fitness app. Today, more than 10 million registered users utilize the app. Nexercise has also been recognized as Fitness Company of the Year by The Founder Institute.
Mr. Young enjoys learning about consumer psychology, behavioral science, and design. To this end, he attends The Habit Summit every year to hear talks by experts from around the world.
