- Atos Worldline, now known as Worldline, is a global leader in the payment and transactional services industry, renowned for pioneering digital payment solutions. With a strong presence in Europe, they specialize in providing secure and innovative payment systems, including point-of-sale terminals, online payment processing, and mobile payment solutions.
- I joined Worldline at a pivotal moment when they were transitioning their payment terminal technology from an older C-based system to a new generation powered by Android (Java). My role was critical as they sought a lead developer to not only spearhead this migration but also to mentor and elevate the capabilities of their junior developers, ensuring the new technology's mastery remained in-house.
- In brief:
Migration Leadership: Spearheaded the migration from legacy C-based payment terminals to modern Android-based systems, ensuring a smooth transition while maintaining quality and functionality. - Developer Mentorship: Acted as a consultant and leader, guiding junior developers through this significant technological leap, fostering in-house expertise and innovation.
- Application Development: Kickstarted the development of Worldline's official suite of mobile applications, including Home, Payment, Merchant, and Printer apps, with the vision to establish a marketplace for easier integration with YUMi & Valina terminals.
- App Lifecycle Management: Led the mobile development team through the full app lifecycle, from conception to delivery, ensuring high standards of software quality and an engaging user experience.
- Problem Solving: Supported the development team in resolving clinical errors and optimizing performance.
- Knowledge Sharing: Initiated and organized code school sessions to educate and guide junior developers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and best practices.
