Since graduating from Miami Dade College in 1980 with a degree in civil engineering, Awni K. Kaloti has continuously worked in business management and operations. He first started working at a Gray Drug Store as a stock boy in charge of organizing merchandise and cleaning. After one year, Awni K. Kaloti was promoted to store manager, a position he held for five years, recording the highest sales nationally among the company’s 400 drug stores. This performance earned him a promotion to district manager in charge of 17 stores in South Florida.
Following his success in drug retailing, Awni Kaloti became an entrepreneur, starting Kaloti International Group in 1984. Through the company, he imported specialty meat from Australia and New Zealand and distributed it in the Miami, Florida market, serving grocery stores, meat markets, and cruise lines. He eventually expanded distribution to foreign markets, exporting to the Caribbean Islands. He has led the company as director for more than 35 years, ensuring its profitability since its inception. Awni Kaloti is also the director of AgAu Solutions, a company he founded in 2019 to melt, refine, and assay precious metals, in addition to offering related logistical support.
