A power generation professional, with 25+ years experience in power plant installation, commissioning and decommissioning, operation and maintenance and previously worked for Black & Veatch at 105MW Kabul Power Plant in Afghanistan, KBR Inc in Iraq, and Kenya Power Company in Kenya. Was trained in Kenya and at BWSC and MAN Diesel & Turbo in Holeby, Denmark. With hands on skills on major brands like Caterpillar, Olympian, Cummins, Aksa, FG Wilson, Marapco, Onis Visa, Kohler, Triton, Volvo, SDMO, Genpower, Terex-Amida, Magnum., MAN and Wartsila gensets, if offered any power plant management position, I will dedicate my expertise and focus on the bigger picture of the business profitability.
  • • Assisted power generation supervisor in management of the department.
    • Assisted materials and control department to identify correct powergen parts from suppliers.
    • Assessed and determined maintenance and repair priorities of field gensets.
    • Conducted daily total safety and task instructions (TSTI) for all mechanics.
    • Supervised and trained both Expat technicians and Subcontract generator mechanics on all aspects of O&M of various gensets of assorted high-speed makes, e.g. Caterpillar, Olympian, Cummins, Aksa, FG Wilson, Marapco, Onis Visa, Kohler, Triton, Volvo, SDMO, Genpower, Terex-Amida and Magnum.
    • Ensured optimum performance of gensets to supply Tactical Operation Centres (TOC), Combat Support Hospital (CSH) and at Arrival & Departure Airfield Control Group (ADACG).
    • Supervised maintenance of generators to comply with DCMA, OEM and client’s SOP to achieve +90% operational readiness rate (ORR).
    • Inspected and recommended faulty gensets for decommissioning if beyond economical repair.
    • Inspected all testing, measuring and diagnostic equipment in power-gen department for compliance.
    • Re-strapped gensets from 400v 50Hz to 110v 60Hz.
    • Performed field QA inspections on various types of gen-sets and equipment to comply with SOW.
    • Maintained a library of OEM manuals for use by field and workshop maintenance staff.
    • Performed duties in support of facilities, construction and electrical departments.
    • Performed random 100% accountability check for sensitive communication items and PPE.
    • Provided and documented appropriate orientation and safety training to generator mechanics.
    • Ensured safe disposal and delivery of waste to HAZMAT yard as per HSE policy.
    • Analyzed lube oil laboratory results to monitor engines performance.
    • Identified inventory requirements for spare parts and system upgrades to improve the efficiency, safety and reliability of the diesel generating units.
    • Maintained genset service records including regular update of inventory of all assets, equipment and tools in power-gen department.
    • Ensured implementation of lock out/tag out policy for all equipment under repair.
    • Worked in Bayji and Kirkuk as foreman in charge of power generation department.
    • Ensured all trucks under my watch are cleaned, inspected and dispatched weekly.
