As Minister Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Haiti to the United Nations (NY), Marie Altagrace Astride Nazaire has represented the interests of the Haitian Government for the past 10 years. She takes a results-oriented approach to addressing humanitarian issues that range from climate change to the global fight against HIV/AIDS. Marie Altagrace Astride Nazaire has also contributed to the International Organization for Migration’s International Dialogue on Migration and the Open Working Group of the UN General Assembly on Sustainable Development Goals.

In addition, she led efforts on behalf of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to address the expanding economic gap between rich and poor countries in 2015. As lead Economist for economic affairs, Ms. Nazaire participates in matters of macroeconomic policy with a focus on the eradication of poverty and the promotion of economic development.

When she isn’t working, Astride Nazaire enjoys reading historical essays and biographies. She also regularly attends Broadway theatrical productions.
