About Me
Ajan Khanna is an Australian engineer, entrepreneur and product innovator based in Sydney. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications and has worked across enterprise systems integration and consumer product commercialisation for more than two decades. In 2002, he founded Strategies Unleashed Pty Ltd (trading as Groovy Gadgets), a business dedicated to designing, manufacturing and distributing innovative consumer electronics across wholesale, online and retail channels in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.
His most commercially successful product, the JINX Luminous Jellyfish mood lamp, has achieved over 200,000 total sales (wholesale and retail combined) through more than 300 retailers. The product is renowned for its quality – 10-day leak testing, whisper-quiet operation and a two-year warranty – and has found applications ranging from home decor to dental clinics and sensory environments.
Ajan has earned three Australian Promotional Products Association Best New Product awards across his product portfolio – including for The Levitator and the Transparent LCD Showcase – and has built a substantial intellectual property portfolio including registered trademarks, design registrations and a pending Australian patent for spark suppression technology in battery-powered devices.
His current focus is the Power Buddy PRO 2700, an Australian-designed and Australian-made portable lithium/solar generator in the final stages of development, rated at 2,700 watts with LiFePO4 battery technology and MPPT solar charging. Outside of business, Ajan is a competitive sportsman who played squash for more than two decades before transitioning to competitive table tennis in 2014, winning the NSW Closed Table Tennis Championships in 2000 and remaining an active competitor. A married father of four.
