  • Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada conducted a research project to evaluate the effects of different soil amendments and cover crops on the structure and chemistry of (soil health status), yield, fruit quality, condition plant nutrients, and plant health. This research project was led by Dr. Mehdi Sharifi. The vines studied are located in the Okanogan Valley (Summerland, Ok Falls, West Kelowna, and Oliver BC). This internship took place at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Research and Development Center in Summerland. This is the position of a research assistant. The work consists of performing various tasks related to the implementation of the research project, including the execution of the research project protocol, the collection, compilation and analysis of data, the writing of reports, the maintenance of systems irrigation and carrying out certain horticultural tasks.
