The recipient of a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California Los Angeles and a master's degree in real estate development from Columbia University, Aaron Marzwell joined The CIM Group as an associate in 2007. He spent seven years with the Los Angeles, California-based firm and rose to the position of vice president of investment and development before launching his company in 2013. As a developer, Aaron Marzwell led the repositioning of distressed multi-million-dollar projects such as Turnberry Towers in Las Vegas, Hancock Lofts in West Hollywood, and The Promenade at Anaheim.
Since establishing his company, APPA Real Estate, Aaron Marzwell has focused on turning around distressed properties and creating new mixed-use properties that include affordable housing. To that end, he has over $100M AUM under APPA Real Estate and focuses on investments in California communities, including Pasadena, Los Angeles, and Hollywood. In addition to leading the firm as CEO, he serves on its Investment Committee and Management Committee.
Outside of his pursuits as a real estate developer, Aaron Marzwell has served on the board of many non profits including Temple Beth Am , the UCLA chapter of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, and the board of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. He also volunteers his time at the Medical Reserve Corps of Los Angeles.
