As a surgeon specializing in oral and maxillofacial surgery, William Hoffmann DDS treats patients for conditions of the face, jaw, and mouth, such as cleft palates and extractions. William Hoffmann DDS has served in his Plymouth, Minnesota office for 30 years, managing five employees.

In addition to dental work, Dr. Hoffman is actively involved in in charity in his home state and abroad. He provides free treatment to clinics for persons who are homeless and has been a reader at the Pax Christi Catholic Community, as well as staffing village dental clinics in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. The Minnesota Dental Association named him as the 2005 Humanitarian of the Year.

Dr. Hoffmann has coached young competitors in Little League baseball, girls’ soccer, and boys’ basketball. Other mentoring includes service to college students and leadership in the Boy Scouts of America.

After attaining a BA in health sciences at Michigan’s Kalamazoo College, Dr. Hoffman moved to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He completed his internship in Ann Arbor before he fulfilled his residency at the University of Minnesota. His research presentations have covered dental implants, impacted teeth, and joint pain in the jaws.

Dr. Hoffman affiliates with several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the International College of Dentists, and the Minneapolis District Dental Society where he was elected president in 2004.
