Recently appointed editor of the Bronx Science Math Bulletin, Wataru Takada attends the Bronx High School of Science and is active in its Math Research Program. Through this prestigious initiative, Wataru Takada has collaborated with a University of Rochester mentor on post-college level mathematics research that combines concepts of incidence combinatorics and algebraic geometry.

Mr. Takada completed studies through 8th grade at the United Nations International School and was active with the math and soccer clubs. Also a Marshall Chess Club member, he participated in the New York City Center for Space Science Education summer camp in 2012. Since entering his present school, he has pursued advanced coursework such as honors trigonometry and precalculus, and AP physics and statistics.

Having lived in the United States since he was young, Mr. Takada was born in Japan and has studied the Japanese language in a home setting. Wataru Takada maintains a level of proficiency that enables him to communicate effectively when in Japan and has translated a manga into English with the volunteer-based group Eien Scans.
