Shaliza Somani

Based in Toronto, Canada, Shaliza Somani handles new business development at Paramount Commerce, where she has been since 2016. The company, which had processed over $35 billion globally, is an innovative financial technology firm with 15 years of experience in transactional risk management and bank-based processing. Since joining Paramount Commerce, Shaliza Somani worked with a team to successfully launch the company's SaaS licensing model in two new jurisdictions and developed new operating procedures to help ensure optimal client support and enhance overall product quality. She also maintains responsibility for researching new markets, analyzing the company's competitors, assessing existing and new client needs, providing feedback on marketing collateral and managing sales cycles.

Prior to joining Paramount Commerce, Shaliza Somani served as the director of sales and marketing for a Los Angeles based fin-tech, managed the daily operations of an internet marketing company (Star Media Productions) and was the assistant manager of a call centre for Prizm Brands (KFC call centre). To supplement her career, she continually attends fin-tech and e-commerce events such as the Payments Canada Summit and ICE Boston and London. In her free time, she enjoys strength training, pilates, cooking, and reading.
