An accomplished professional in global real estate investment, Dr. Robert "Bob" Zerbst has served since 2014 as Chairman of Monterey Investment Management. The firm specializes in financing real estate developments using the US government sponsored EB-5 Visa program. Most investments are structured as mezzanine debt and most investors are from China. The firm operates in California, Massachusetts, and New York. Dr. Zerbst balances this work with service as Chairman of the Advisory Board at Chenco Holdings and as a member of the Board of Directors of Digital Realty Trust (DLR:NYSE), the world's largest data center real estate investment trust (REIT). He also serves on Advisory Boards at the business schools at UC Berkley and Ohio State University and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He was also former Board Member and Chairman of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers.

Dr. Robert Zerbst comes to these roles as Chairman Emeritus of CBRE Global Investors, having served as Chairman from 2007 through 2009. He had previously served for a decade as the firm's CEO, during which time he grew a fully core and domestic business into a global multi-strategy business. Mr. Zerbst also proved successful in expanding the firm's total assets under management (AUM) from $3.7 billion in 1998 to more than $44 billion in 2008, which has since continued to grow to a total AUM of more than $100 billion today.
