Employed Looking for an internship
As a Captain in the French navy (military), I have 7 years of experience regarding navigation and operations when I have been in charge of 250 crew members on a battleship. One of my numerous duties was to be Chief of the Watch (1800 hours) on Frigates or Nuclear Submarines. This is the equivalent of airline First Officer with military exercises included. Impassioned by aviation, I successfully passed CPL, MEP and IR at the first attempt in the UK and got an ICAO English proficiency level 6.
I am convinced that my experience in the navy gives me a great advantage in flying a commercial plane. Not only do I feel comfortable with spatial awareness and anticipating navigation, but also I experienced several real life emergencies such as fire in one of the engines, and injured crew members. Thanks to my training, I am able to keep calm in stressful situations. Also, as a manager I am particularly focused on improving communication and leadership with my crew. When I have the opportunity, through my methods of command, I want to gain respect while explaining to each crew member the consequences of their actions. This way, crew members are much more responsive when an order is directly given in a difficult situation.
