An undergraduate student at the University of Georgia Terry College of Business, Nicholas Leonard is studying to earn a bachelor’s degree in management information systems. During this time, the Athens, GA, student has developed a strong interest in process automation and data analytics, the latter of which is the focus of his degree. Nicholas Leonard of Athens, GA, has also developed a strong background in business coding and is certified in machine learning with Python. He also holds a Google Analytics individual qualification, and is a certified Yellow Belt in Lean Six Sigma.
To supplement his education, Mr. Leonard has been gaining practical experience throughout his studies. Most recently, he served as a data specialist for Carter-Young. In this capacity, he was responsible for importing thousands of pieces of data, while keeping private information protected and maintaining client relationships. Despite his brief tenure with the company, he also recognized numerous areas where process automation would dramatically boost operating efficiency and was responsible for setting up automation of these processes.
Prior to his role at Carter-Young, Nicholas Leonard worked for such companies as Jimmy Johns and the Augusta National Golf Club. Through these, he developed customer-service and detail-oriented skills due to responsibilities like making accurate orders and handling press confrontations.
