A former tutor with The John E. Jaqua Academic Center for Student Athletes in Eugene, Oregon, Nathaniel Austin Snyder worked with student athletes on homework assignments. He spent one year tutoring University of Oregon athletes. Recently Nathaniel Austin Snyder earned his Oregon emergency medical technician (EMT) license and National EMT Certification. He is studying for the MCAT to become an emergency room technician. After a couple of years in that position, he plans to become an orthopedic surgeon.
Nathaniel Snyder spent one year at Southern Oregon University (SOU) in Ashland and then transferred to the University of Oregon in Eugene. He received $1,500 academic scholarship to attend SOU, where he was a member of the university’s track and field team and participated in pole vaulting. He graduated cum laude with a 3.7 cumulative grade point average with a bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in chemistry from the University of Oregon.
During his time in high school, Mr. Snyder and a friend sold origami earrings. The two of them donated half of the proceeds to diabetes research organizations.
