Previously serving as superintendent at public school districts in the United States, Matthew Wendt has experience in educational administration spanning more than two decades. Matthew Wendt was as one of the nation’s first professionals in his field to achieve National Superintendent Certification through the American Association of School Administrators.
Dr. Wendt is presently working to launch his own educational consulting firm, while serving as teacher and foreign principal with international schools located in Beijing and Shenzhen, China. Guiding the faculty, he actively develops curriculum and policies, and offers teachers professional development and training services. His efforts are leading to the establishment of a new primary school and planned secondary school, as well as an exchange program in tandem with US schools.
Throughout his career, Dr. Wendt has been active with organizations such as the Illinois Association of School Administrators. He also has presented at numerous conferences in his field. In 2015, he attended the No Child Left Behind Conference in Chicago and lectured on “District-wide Strategies for Turnaround Change.” In 2014, he spoke on “Culturally Responsive Leading for Dramatic Improvements in Student Achievement” at the National Alliance of Black School Educators Conference.
