About Me
An executive in the entertainment and music industry, Lisa Ellis has been working in the industry for more than two decades. Much of that time was spent working at Sony. Initially joining the company in 1995, she rapidly worked her way up the ranks to such roles as executive vice president at Sony Music Label Group and president of Sony Urban Music. Lisa Ellis also oversaw the successful restructuring of Sony Music in 2004.
Since leaving Sony, Ellis held executive roles at Fireman Capital Partners, Provenance Ventures, and SoundCloud. Although she eventually left Fireman Capital Partners and Provenance Ventures for a position at SoundCloud, she maintains advisory positions with both companies. At SoundCloud, Ellis holds the position of global head of music and artist relations, and reports to the company’s CEO.
In her free time, Lisa Ellis maintains a passion for philanthropy. She’s a member of Nat King Cole Generation Hope, serves on the advisory board at Girls Make Beats, and belongs to the Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy and Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. Beyond her social involvement, she enjoys horseback riding and belongs to the United States Hunter Jumper Association and U.S. Equestrian Federation. An avid traveler, she has also visited more than 70 countries.
