Jeanette Stofleth, a musician with decades of experience, recently composed As I, an album by The Acoustics, a group also featuring her brother, River. The album's roots go back to a night when she woke up suddenly inspired. These early inspirations grew into regular recording sessions with her brother. Together, the two siblings have created a unique, impressionistic sound Jeanette Stofleth compares metaphorically to the sensation of seeing white light through one’s eyelids. Her dreamlike, lyrical music creates a tranquil atmosphere that nonetheless subtly expresses the musicians’ fears and anxieties.

Before forming The Acoustics, Jeanette Stofleth nurtured her passion for music as a child in the mid-1990s. She taught herself basic guitar chords, and her father helped her develop her interest into full-fledged songs she learned to play on the instrument. In fact, she’s very thankful that she grew up in a family that not only values music but offered both siblings ample opportunity to experience self-expression while playing music with their parents.

Besides her commitment to the arts, Jeanette Stofleth gives back to her community by supporting nonprofits like Women Against Violence Everywhere.
