An experienced architect and urbanist, James Hanis serves the Walt Disney Imagineering team in Orlando, Florida, as a design manager. In this position, he works alongside the creative engineering minds that develop some of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts’ most recognizable attractions and features, including Disney theme park rides. Prior to joining Walt Disney Imagineering, James Hanis spent two years at an architect studio in Orlando and more than a decade as a city architect with the City of Daytona Beach.
In addition to his work as a designer, he has considerable experience as a business leader, having spent three years with the projects division of Orange County Capital and four years as vice president of 3-D International, LLC, through which he worked in Florida as well as Texas.
James Hanis studied at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He graduated with a master of arts in architecture and a minor in urban planning and landscape architecture.
