James Ahern has served Laidlaw and Company, Ltd., in New York City as managing partner and head of capital markets for more than six years. In his position with the firm he has emphasized financing and advising a number of public and private companies, primarily those operating in the health care sector. In addition to arranging financing for institutional clients, James Ahern has played an integral role in the strategic expansion of Laidlaw and Company’s capital markets team, resulting in considerable market share growth in the capital markets.
Before joining Laidlaw and Company, Mr. Ahern spent time as managing director of the private investment firm Aegis Capital. Between 2003 and 2008 he functioned as vice president of the full service investment bank Casimir Capital. When he is not leading capital markets strategy at Laidlaw and Company, he spends his time contributing to various not-for-profit organizations. He also supports his alma mater, the Northfield Mount Hermon School in Hermon, Massachusetts.
