About Me
An automation validation engineer with Panacea Technologies Inc. in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania, Jake Newberger creates programs utilizing a variety of languages and specifications for systems inspected by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Interested in mechanical engineering, he is fascinated by the way advancements in technology are applied to medicine, robotics, and automation. To delve into this field, Jake Newberger attended The Pennsylvania State University and acquired a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

As an undergraduate, Jake Newberger joined the Penn State Robotics Club (PSRC), the Penn State Mechanical Engineering Society (PSMES), and the school's chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Through the PSRC, he assisted in creating and programming robots that successfully completed mazes and gave tours of the campus. Participation in the PSMES allowed Jacob Newberger to be mentored by Penn State alumni active in the engineering field.

Also while in school, Jacob Newberger competed in a BAE Systems Inc. contest as the captain of a four-person team. The goal was to produce an in-vehicle system that identified and avoided hazards in blackout conditions while keeping in a three-vehicle formation. His crew received an award for Best Engineered Design of Autonomous System Navigation and Driver Augmentation.
