About Me
Dr. Ijaz Ahmad, MD, FACC, is Founder and Medical Director of Park Slope Cardiac & Diagnostic Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he leads a practice focused on non-invasive and nuclear cardiology. Under his leadership, the practice has expanded into medically underserved communities throughout New York City.

His interest in cardiology developed early. Growing up in Gujranwala, Pakistan, he saw firsthand the impact of heart disease on families without access to cardiac care, an experience that shaped his decision to pursue the field. He earned his medical degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College, then moved to the United States, where he completed his residency at Interfaith Medical Center and trained in cardiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He currently holds an ongoing role at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and previously served as an attending physician at NYU Langone Health from 2020 to 2023.

Dr. Ahmad has described his work building healthcare practices in underserved communities as the most significant undertaking of his career. He is currently exploring an affordable housing initiative across his properties in Brooklyn. His involvement extends into civic life as well. Governor Kathy Hochul appointed him as an advisory member of the New York State Justice Center, and he serves as Founder and Chairman of the Board of the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee (APPAC), a role he has held since 2017. His philanthropic work also extends to Gujranwala, where he is developing a 350-bed hospital with plans for a future medical school in the same region.

He is fluent in English, Urdu, and Punjabi. Outside of medicine, he plays tennis, has an interest in fusion music, and is active as a real estate investor. His guiding principle, "Service Before Self," reflects the throughline across his clinical work, civic involvement, and philanthropic projects.
