Since 2013, Gustavo L. Vila has served as a real estate associate broker with William Raveis Real Estate in Yorktown Heights, New York, where he handles home sales and purchases throughout Westchester County. Previously he practiced law for more than a decade after earning a juris doctor from Fordham University School of Law. Gustavo L. Vila spent many years in private practice after gaining experience at the Law Office of Russell D. Mauro and the Law Offices of Eaton & Torrenzano. He also taught business law at the Brooklyn College of CUNY as an adjunct professor.
Prior to practicing law, Gustavo L. Vila spent two decades in the New York Police Department, ultimately achieving the rank of lieutenant commander of detective squad. He started as a patrol officer in midtown south where he earned a Rookie of the Year award. At the end of his career he began serving as special counsel to the police commissioner, advising on a number of policy and operational matters. He maintains a membership with the New York State Fraternal Order of Police and the New Jersey Bar Association.
In his free time, Mr. Vila enjoys attending the theater and reading mystery novels.
