Evan was born on May 25, 1980, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and grew up in Carmel, Indiana. He pursued his undergraduate studies at Indiana University Purdue University in Indianapolis, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Spanish in 2002. While at university, Evan earned a spot on The National Dean’s List and actively participated in the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity’s Finance Committee. These early academic and leadership experiences set the stage for his future legal career. Evan continued his education at Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, graduating with his Juris Doctor degree in 2006. At Case Western, he was a Jonathan M. Ault Mock Trial Team member and served as Vice President of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. He was also recognized on the Dean's List for his academic excellence.

After law school, Evan Byron, a Cleveland lawyer, began his legal career with Kaufman, Drozdowski & Grendell, LLC in Cleveland. Over the years, he handled various legal matters, including business disputes, bankruptcy, real estate transactions, and probate law. His practice expanded to include transactional law, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, real estate deals, and providing business general counsel services. In recognition of his work, Evan was promoted to partner at Kaufman, Drozdowski & Grendell in 2017. Before joining Kaufman, Drozdowski & Grendell, Evan worked as Of Counsel at Lieberman, Dvorin & Dowd, LLC, where he gained experience in business and commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, and real estate law.

Evan’s career includes valuable experience at Chernett Wasserman, LLC, where he was a non-equity partner from 2009 to 2016. In this role, he managed the firm’s litigation practice, overseeing various cases involving commercial disputes, bankruptcy, real estate, leasing, and employment law. His ability to manage a high volume of cases, often exceeding fifty active matters at once, contributed to the firm’s ongoing success.

In 2025, Evan founded Byron Legal, LLC, to create a law firm that integrates strong litigation expertise with a focus on strategic transactional law. As managing partner, Evan has built a skilled team capable of handling diverse legal challenges for businesses and individuals. Throughout his career, Evan has achieved several notable legal victories. One of his most significant accomplishments came in 2010 when he successfully argued a case before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, resulting in a $15.6 million verdict for his client. Evan continued to build on his reputation as a highly skilled litigator, and he won another major trial in 2016. His professional qualifications include bar admissions in Ohio and the United States District Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Evan is also deeply committed to his local and professional communities. He has been a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association since 2006. Evan has served on the Executive Council of the Young Lawyers Section and the Membership Committee within the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. He has also dedicated his time to teaching high school students as a mock trial instructor and contributed to the Task Force on Judicial Excellence, demonstrating his commitment to helping develop the next generation of legal professionals.
