Over the course of his career in endodontics, Terry Isom, DMD, has applied his expertise as a clinician, educator, and humanitarian volunteer. In 2011, he participated in the Oregon Dental Association Mission of Mercy, which treated 2,000 patients in need across the state. Dr. Terry Isom participated in this endeavor, having four years earlier joined an outreach mission to Greater Cusco, Peru, where he provided professional education in endodontics to approximately 20 area dentists.
Dr. Terry Isom comes to his humanitarian work as a former proselytizing missionary with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served with the church's France Paris Mission for two years before he enrolled in the Oregon Health & Science University's (OHSU) School of Dentistry to pursue his DMD. He has since enhanced his education with a graduate certificate in endodontics from OHSU, where he had previously taught as an associate professor.
