A dental graduate of the University of Toronto, Dr. Khaled Emile Hashem has spent more than 30 years as a dentist, lecturer, and philanthropist in Canada and elsewhere. A longtime supporter of child welfare initiatives, he served on the boards of directors for both the Champion for Children’s Foundation and the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa. While serving as a dentist in Ottawa, Dr. Khaled Emile Hashem provided free care to numerous refugees, immigrants, and other needy individuals unable to pay for services. He also helped lead a cooperative medical research mission to Israel during this time.
From 2010 to 2015, Dr. Khaled Emile Hashem served as a freelance dentist in Lebanon, where he continued his commitment to giving back to the community by offering pro bono dental services to the local underserved population. He also traveled to Sudan, where he lectured on advanced dental techniques and topics to emerging dental professionals in the country.
During his long career, Dr. Khaled Hashem has earned numerous awards and honors for his professional and philanthropic work. Twice the recipient of a Volunteer Award from the government of Ontario, he was also nominated for the Order of Ontario in 2008.
