Dr. Jose Jacob is a seasoned invasive cardiologist with over 23 years of experience treating cardiovascular diseases. He has developed a reputation for providing top-tier care in cardiology, specializing in diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and transesophageal echocardiograms. He earned his MSc in Cardiology from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and completed his cardiology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College, further advancing his expertise.

Dr. Jacob was born on January 3rd, 1960, in India. His medical career began when he enrolled at St. John's Medical College in Bangalore, India, where he completed his MBBS degree in 1983. Motivated to pursue a deeper understanding of medicine, he later specialized in internal medicine and earned his MD in General Internal Medicine in 1991.

In 1992, Dr. Jacob’s career took an international turn when he moved to the United Kingdom. He worked as a Senior House Officer and Medical Registrar at Letterkenny General Hospital in Ireland and England. Here, he earned his MSc in Cardiology from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, contributing to the growing body of knowledge on thrombolysis in acute myocardial infarction through his thesis.

In 1996, seeking to further his career, Jose Jacob relocated to the United States. He began his American medical journey with an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He then pursued a cardiology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he trained in invasive cardiology, preparing him for the specialized work he would later pursue.

Dr. Jacob’s professional practice spans various hospitals across the United States. He began as an invasive cardiologist in Fayetteville, North Carolina, at the Fayetteville Heart Center and later expanded his career with roles at Carolina Heart and Carolina East Cardiology. He continued his work at Eastern Carolina Cardiovascular until 2018, earning recognition for his dedication to his patients. From 2016 to 2018, he also served as the Director and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center.

In 2021, Dr. Jacob moved to Florida, where he practices at the Cardiac Specialty Institute in Leesburg and the Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida in Ocala. He is affiliated with several regional hospitals, including HCA Ocala Regional Medical Center and AdventHealth Hospital, providing cardiovascular care to a broad patient base.

Jose Jacob MD is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Adult Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine and remains an active member of several professional organizations. He has received multiple accolades throughout his career, including awards for his excellence in emergency medicine and cardiology.
