A highly-educated Florida-based surgeon, Dr. Constantine Toumbis earned a bachelor's degree in biology from New York University in 1987, and the following year completed a master's in natural sciences from State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. In the next decade, Dr. Constantine Toumbis earned a PhD in experimental pathology from SUNY at Buffalo as well as a doctor of medicine (MD) with biomedical research distinction from Wayne State University in Michigan.

While pursuing his PhD and MD, Dr. Constantine Toumbis worked as a research assistant with Hemex Corporation, a biology instructor at Canisius College, and an adjunct assistant biology professor at Yeshiva University. Upon finishing a one-year surgical internship with the University of Florida Department of Surgery, he completed an orthopaedic surgery residency with the school's Department of Orthopedics and a fellowship in spine surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida.

From 2005 to 2015, he performed spine surgery at Citrus Orthopaedic and Joint Institute and presently holds affiliation with Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center, Citrus Spine Institute, and Citrus Memorial Hospital, the latter of which fields a spine team that earned a five-star rating in spinal fusion surgery from 2006 to 2015 from Healthgrades. Dr. Toumbis has earned Top Doctor recognition on multiple occasions from Castle Connolly Medical and the International Association of Orthopedic Surgeons.
