About Me
An avid hiker, Candace Breed loves to backpack through numerous types of terrain, including rivers, lakes, and meadows. Two of her favorite locations are Crater Lake in Oregon and, generally, the Sierra Nevada Mountains, which stretch from California to Nevada. Candace Breed particularly seeks out locations that may be difficult to access by vehicle.
Ms. Breed's favorite outdoor experiences pertain to unexpected moments in nature. While in Michigan, she heard bird sounds, and when she glanced up, she was rewarded with the indelible image of a heron and its nestling high up in a tree. Moments later, the bird swooped from its perch and lunged toward the lake. Another instance occurred on a hike in a Wisconsin state park when Ms. Breed heard a loud noise, only to notice a tree that had fallen across the trail not far from where she had just been hiking.
Other outdoor activities in which Candace Breed participates include growing her own fruits and vegetables. She also enjoys watching basketball and women's tennis.
