Brian O'Kane

Brian O’Kane is the President and CEO of the O’Kane Group of Companies and Klarke Investments, where he oversees a diversified portfolio of multifamily residences, commercial centers, office buildings, and industrial properties. With over twenty years of experience in financial management and strategic development, he has played a crucial role in shaping the real estate landscape in Calgary.

Since establishing a series of property development and general contracting firms in 2002, Brian has been at the forefront of urban transformation in Calgary. His companies are recognized for their innovative approaches to redeveloping aged structures and spearheading new construction projects, significantly contributing to the city's development. As President of Vectus from 2011 to 2015, he led multiple landmark developments that have left a lasting imprint on the urban environment.

Before focusing on real estate, Brian was at the helm of an oilfield equipment manufacturing company, leading it through exponential growth. His strategic initiatives expanded the company’s operations by sevenfold within five years, leading to its acquisition by a major U.S. company in 2001.

Background and Education

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Brian moved to Sydney, Australia, when he was seven and was raised in the suburb of St. Ives. He returned to Canada in 1991, residing in Vancouver and Edmonton before settling in Calgary in 1996. He earned a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University and holds CPA and CGA accounting designations.

Brian is an avid outdoor enthusiast. He enjoys rally racing, skiing, cycling, sailing, and boating activities. His passion for the outdoors is well-suited to Calgary’s location near the Canadian Rockies, which provides ample opportunities for adventure.

Brian is also deeply committed to his family, especially enjoying time with his grandchildren.
