About Me
Dr. Brian Gilchrist is a well-established pediatric surgeon with more than three decades of experience in the medical field. Serving as chief of pediatric surgery at NYU-Winthrop University through April of 2019, Dr. Brian Gilchrist ensured a high level of patient responsiveness among physicians, nurses, and residents. Increasing the institution’s capacity for trauma care, he performed a large number of tumor and neonatal operations that benefitted children in the local area.

A graduate of the Tufts University School of Medicine, Dr. Gilchrist was a major in the United States Army Medical Corps from 1984 to 1991 and served as combat surgeon with the 311th Evacuation Hospital during Operation Desert Storm. He has held leadership responsibilities with various institutions over the years, including The Floating Hospital for Children Tufts University in Massachusetts and Elliot Hospital in New Hampshire.

Receiving accolades for his consistent efforts in selecting and training residents, Dr. Gilchrist was named best teacher from the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center’s Medical School Class of 2017. Dr. Brian Gilchrist has also earned New York City Police Department induction as an honorary surgeon.
