An established legal professional in Southern California’s immigration law community, Berna Kamyar has spent two years as an attorney with the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) in Los Angeles. In this position, Berna Kamyar provides pro bono immigration and state court services to unaccompanied children and youth in need of asylum and special immigrant juvenile status. He is also experienced in United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) interview processes and can help conduct interviews for Spanish speaking clients. His skills in this position include oral advocacy, research, legal writing, and working with young clients who have experienced trauma, among other talents.
A member of the State Bar of California, Berna Kamyar received his juris doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School. During his time as a law student he served as a corporate law research assistant under professor Edward Adams and as a copyright law research assistant with professor Ruth Okediji. He also belonged to campus organizations such as the ACLU Club and the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. He went on to earn a master of business administration at the University of California, San Diego.
