Benjamin Wey

Benjamin Wey is an American financier and the chief executive of New York Global Group, a New York-based private equity investment and global strategic advisory firm focused on the United States and China corridor. Since relocating his practice to New York in 2000, he has advised companies on capital raises, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, project financing, and US market entry, work that has made him one of the more recognizable intermediaries between Chinese enterprises and American capital markets.

He serves as Senior Economic Policies Advisor to Hamilton Reserve Bank and as a Deputy Director of the China Mergers and Acquisitions Association.

His career began in Oklahoma. He arrived in the United States on a university scholarship, started a trading business while still an undergraduate, and worked as an investment advisor and stockbroker before becoming chief executive of Benchmark Global Capital Group. He holds a finance degree from Oklahoma Baptist University, an MBA from the University of Central Oklahoma, and a Master of Science in Leadership Development from Columbia Business School. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Wey writes and speaks regularly on capital formation, regulatory complexity, and the economics of cross-border deal-making. He has been a featured speaker at MIT and a keynote speaker at the Babson Entrepreneurship Forum, and has provided market commentary to WSJ Live, CNBC, China Central Television, and The Hill.

Wey funds several education initiatives. The Benjamin Wey Scholarship for
Entrepreneurs and the Benjamin Wey Grant for Finance Students support students
pursuing entrepreneurship and finance studies, and he provides annual financial
assistance to students at a K-12 school in rural Hebei province, China.
