Benjamin L. Schwartz, a passionate student and journalist, splits his time between schoolwork and working at a faculty-supervised college radio station. Working towards a bachelor’s in journalism from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Ohio University, the Glenview, Illinois, native has several years of radio experience. While in high school, he spent three years working at his school’s student-run radio station WGBK-FM and he now is a DJ and host for the ACRN Radio Network internet station. Ben Schwartz of Glenview hopes to eventually establish himself in the media industry in Chicago as a sports or music reporter.
In his free time, Ben L. Schwartz enjoys a wide range of hobbies. A music aficionado, he loves reading, critiquing, as well as recording music. This, in part, fuels his love of radio. Both of his radio experiences have focused on music and he has had the opportunity to discuss and play new musical pieces to his listeners. One of his favorite musical artists is Kid Cudi, whom he enjoys for his alternative hip-hop. Beyond music, Mr. Schwartz enjoys traveling, and he and his family had the chance to visit the Galapagos Islands and enjoy the unique animals that live there. Although he often has the opportunity to try new cuisines, his favorite foods are simple like chicken and pasta dishes and he often sticks to this simplicity when visiting new places.
