Trained as a mechanical engineer, Anura Perera attended school in Colombo, Sri Lanka, prior to embarking on a successful career in global business. Upon the completion of his studies, Anura Perera left Sri Lanka, accepting a position with a major distributor for Caterpillar Inc. in Zambia, South Africa. Functioning in sales and maintenance for Caterpillar construction machinery, Anura Perera exhibited both dedication and mechanical skill, establishing himself as a valued member of the organization. Following his tenure at the Zambian construction equipment distribution company, Anura Perera chose to pursue an entrepreneurial path, founding businesses in Africa and Europe. Anura Perera utilized his background in mechanical engineering in numerous capacities, helming various civil engineering projects and building communication networks.
Currently serving as Chairman of Raycom Aerospace Pte. Ltd., Anura Perera is an instrumental part of the company's continued growth, overseeing the development of essential business relationships with other aerospace industry firms. Based in Singapore, Raycom Aerospace Pte. Ltd. manufactures precision mechanical components for the aerospace, oil, and gas industries. Under Anura Perera's guidance, the company has expanded across the Middle East, recently finalizing a deal with a major airport company in the United Arab Emirates. In order to complete this deal, Anura Perera traveled to the 2009 Paris Air Show, meeting with the Managing Director of Raycom Aerospace, Steven Kim, and Faisal Al Zaidi, head of Abu Dhabi Airports Company. Anura Perera's colleagues signed a memorandum of understanding, solidifying Raycom Aerospace's position as a leader in the aerospace industry. A dedicated philanthropist and a successful corporate executive, Anura Perera supports a swath of charitable organizations around the world through the George Phylnormal Foundation.
