Holding a bachelor of science from Drexel University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Anthony Deering has spent the past four decades building a successful career in the business industry. He started his career in 1972, when he joined The Rouse Company. Over the course of 30 years, he held a wide array of executive positions with the business, including Treasurer, Senior Vice President, COO, and finally CEO and Chairman of the Board. In 2004, The Rouse Company was sold to GGP, and Anthony Deering took on his current role as Chairman at the private investment firm, Exeter Capital, LLC.
Throughout his career, Mr. Deering has been committed to sharing his business expertise. In addition to his role at Exeter Capital, he acts as a Director of Under Armour and Brixmor Property Group. He is also a part of the advisory board for Deutsche Bank America, serves as Lead Independent Director of T. Rowe Price mutual funds, and is a trustee of the Baltimore Museum of Art and Johns Hopkins Medicine. Prior to these roles, Mr. Deering held board positions at a number of community and professional organizations, from Vornado Realty Trust and Mercantile Bank to the Peabody Conservatory.
In recognition of his many accomplishments, Anthony Deering was granted an honorary doctor of humane letters from Johns Hopkins University in 2015.
