A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Andre T. Johnson earned a bachelor of arts in journalism with an English minor from the University of Memphis. He went on to establish himself as a successful sports journalist, interviewing a wide variety of famous professional athletes and coaches, including quarterback Archie Manning, boxer Laila Ali, and basketball coach/senior executive Phil Jackson. Andre T. Johnson owns and publishes MemphiSport Magazine, an online sports news outlet with headquarters in Dallas, Texas. MemphiSport covers sports events and news stories that range from NBA and NFL games to amateur athletic achievements throughout the United States.
Mr. Johnson’s responsibilities with MemphiSport include serving as the organization’s executive editor and NBA southwest division reporter. As a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, he has revived an array of awards for his journalistic endeavors.
When he is not working or attending sports events, Andre T. Johnson enjoys cooking and listening to music. His favorite band is the Saint Paul-based R&B outfit Mint Condition.
