Responsible for managing financial department for tow of Independent Schools
Reporting to School Operator and Supreme Council of Education of Qatar Prepare bank reconciliation, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets accounting, year-end closing entries and audit schedules. Such reporting and schedules to be in line with approved external audit program. Prepare budget, monthly financial reports, year-end closing for review and approval of the School Operator. Prepare annual financial report including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet for review by School Operator and approval by External Auditors. Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Respond to inquiries from the School Operator, Supreme Council of Education of Qatar and other areas where appropriate on a timely basis. Guide, advise and coach other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy, applying observations and making recommendations on all accounting / operational issues. Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure. Accomplish accounting and School mission by completing all accounting related tasks and remaining compliant with all accounting and finance related legislation. Documents financial transactions by entering account information. Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options. Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports. Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents. Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures. Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Maintains financial security by following internal controls. Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements. Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations. Complies with state and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions. Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Accomplishes the result by performing the duty. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
