Longtime Maryland resident Dr. William David Hill began his post-secondary education studying biology at Mount St. Mary’s University before earning his DDS at the University of Maryland. Graduating in 1969, Dr. William David Hill initially pursued a career in dentistry. However, in 1981, he founded Caulk Management, a firm dedicated to founding and managing businesses. Among the first he was involved with was Idlewild Associates, a real estate development firm focused on an 80-acre site in Easton. As a partner with Idlewild Associates, he assisted medical professionals with financing the purchase and development of medical facilities on the site.

Named 1989 small businessman of the year, Dr. Hill went on to establish the community bank Easton Bank & Trust, which first opened its doors in 1993. Independent and locally owned, the bank served the community for over two decades with him as its chairman. During this time Dr. Hill diversified his business interests establishing William Hill Manor, a retirement community, and serving as its CEO until its eventual sale to nonprofit Episcopal Ministries for the Aging. He also established a number of other businesses including several car washes, a full-service pharmacy with three locations, and the Advance Life Support Group.

In 2004 he founded Hill Hospitality, a hotel development and management firm currently managing four award-winning hotels in Maine, Maryland, and South Carolina. A hotel in Kennebunkport is also under construction and expected to open in spring 2017.
