An event planner since 2010, Vanessa Duell started her own company, Vanessa Shoman Events, in October 2015. Through her New York City company, Vanessa Duell handles small events, nonprofit affairs, and weddings.
Outside of running Vanessa Shoman Events, Ms. Duell enjoys traveling outside of the United States. She has been to Spain, Mexico, Italy, Central America, and St. Barts, and she counts the South of France as her favorite place to visit.
The owner of an extensive shoe collection, Ms. Duell attends fashion events when at home in New York. She takes cooking lessons as well as language classes to learn Italian and French, and she is fluent in Spanish. She also undertakes interior decorating and freelance writing outside of her work as an event planner. Before moving to New York, she studied journalism and public relations at the University of Texas at Austin.
