A resident of Santa Rosa, California, Ronald Cupp retired in 2008 after selling his company, Positive Changes Hypnosis Centers, which operated in Rohnert Park, San Rafael, and Santa Rosa, and helped more than 7,5000 clients overcome personal behavior issues. Holding a PhD in clinical hypnotherapy from Albert University, Ronald Cupp opened the three centers in 2001 to supplement his role as president of Cupp Bros. Construction, which he founded in 1985 and managed until his retirement.
Although the company specialized in property management and the construction of office buildings and shopping centers, it also built several residential properties. Under Ronald Cupp's guidance, it assisted with residential rebuild efforts following an earthquake in 1989 and the Oakland firestorm three years later. At its height during the mid-90s, the company had 72 employees and six office personnel.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Cupp worked as a controller for Phoenix Simpton Company and managed his own tax service and accounting business. He also served four years as treasurer of the Corte Medera Chamber of Commerce. In addition to his PhD, Mr. Cupp holds a bachelor's degree in business and accounting from Healds Business College.
